So LFW has come again and all the designers are showing off their A/W collections for 2014- 2015 even though A/W 2013- 2014 isn't even over yet! Anyway, here is the beautiful Barbara Casasola's ready-to-wear collection which previewed on the catwalk today.
For some reason, I think that the collection's head-wear has been inspired by Pharrell Williams' hat collection. Apart for the ridiculously big hats, the collection is very simple, but classy and styled to perfection. The images above show off the day-wear trends. There is a repeating pattern of the midi skirt with a high rise waist, with a cropped tailored shirt/ top. For the day wear, the designer has used heavy materials in some looks and light silks and chiffon in others. A very severe comparison in styles.
As we can see, the collection is covered in structural lines across the materials which in some ways frames the body. These four catwalk images show the feminine materials and cuts the clothes have. Barbara has stuck to the classic A/W colours like red, grape and burgundy.
The rest of the collection flows well through colours, shapes and materials. The colours are very block, with a maximum of 2 shades being used in each outfit. The block colours make the collection look very structured and uniformed, as well as smart and sophisticated when worn on the catwalk. There is a hint of tweed in some of the pieces which reinforces is a repeated trend every year in the A/W collections.
